BCA - Ordinance

BCA course is under graduate degree course of 3 years spread over 6 semesters. This course is designed to produce a dynamic breed of computer professionals with excellent managerial skills. Fast growing information Technology & communication systems have become critical components of almost every company's strategic plan. Companies which want to take advantage of new information technologies and communication systems require expert professionals, who can apply computer science principles to solve problems produced by the interface between business and technology. This is an under graduate program where students are exposed to various areas of computer applications including the latest developments in industry.

  • The course is also designed to help graduate to start their own venture or be business consultants.
  • It demonstrates professional competence in developing software and in its design and implementation.
  • Developing sound practical skills in order to address problems which arise from computer systems and     applications.
  • Demonstrates sound presentation and communication skills, which are required in the computer industry.

Eligibility for Admission

  1. Any student who has passed PUC Science or commerce securing a minimum of 35% of marks
  2. Any student who has passed JODC or Diploma in Engineering with minimum of 35% of marks in aggregate in all the semesters/years.

Admission Procedure

The application forms for admission to the BCA Course are available in the college office. Along with the completed application form.

Produce the photo copies of the following documents.

1. Original TC (Transfer Certificate)

2. SSLC and PUC Marks Card

3. Caste certificate (if any)      

Reservations may be made as per the notifications/ Govt orders from University/Govt from time to time Tuition and other fees are fixed by university from time to time.

Sceme of Study

1. All semesters from first to fifth will have five theory papers and two practical’s each carrying 100 marks (80 marks theory and 20 marks internals)

2. The final semester will have five theory papers and one project where students are required to develop     a live project in the field of software development.

3. The project must be developed either independently or jointly (maximum of two students)

4. The medium of instruction is English.

Course and Evaluation

At the end of each semester, university examination of 3 hours duration in each of theory paper/practical carrying 80 marks will be conducted.

2. Internal assessment (IA) carrying 20 marks in each of theory paper/practical will be based on performance of students in two written tests of one hour duration. No minimum marks for passing is required in IA.

3. At the end of sixth semester the student has to submit complete project report for the evaluation which will be certified by internal and external guide duly signed by principal/Chairman/Head/Course Co-coordinator. The project and viva voce will be evaluated for 300 marks.

4. Every student must have at least 75% attendance in each of the course (Theory and practical) in each semester. Shortage of attendance will be dealt with as per university rule from time to time.
